How often the love of the Lord amazes and humbles me.  How can He love someone like me?  My greatest works (which are none), most rapturous praise and prayer, my highest exultation of praise, are all polluted and corrupted by sin. When I consider my life, tears flow because I cannot attain and fall far, far short of the glory of God.

Yet, He loves me.

He has shown me in His word, by His Son, and through His Spirit.  This is knowledge far better and more sure than a life lived perfectly.  He fills me, encompasses me, and overwhelms all doubt and fear, so that I can shout with David: The Lord is my Light and my Salvation, whom shall I fear!
